We are very pleased to announce our newly developed sintered Sm2Co17 grades!

The grades offer improved magnetic properties of higher straightness of demagnetization curves, and/or remanence and maximum energy product. We are hoping that the grades will increase the efficiency and productivity of your products.

Remag 32 I / Remag 32 T

The newly developed grades provide enhanced remanence and energy product. A typical energy product up to 260 kJ/m3 is achieved for the isostaticaly pressed samples. This makes the magnets suitable for applications as aerospace industry and electric motors which requires high magnetic properties at room and elevated temperatures.


Remag 28 I-HT / Remag 28 T-HT

The newly developed grades provide very high demagnetization strength at room and elevated temperatures. For example at 180 oC, the typical coercivity of the magnets is 1500 kA/m and Hkn of 900 kA/m. This makes the magnets suitable for applications that require stable magnetic properties even at very high temperatures as in automotive industry.

This activity has received funding from the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT). This body of the European Union receives support from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.

Digital transformation of production and business processes at Magneti

Purpose of the operation

The main purpose of the operation is to enable better and faster decision-making based on data from production operations, which will directly help reduce scrap. We will also digitize certain overhead processes so that they are less time consuming and at the same time consume less physical resources. Some measures will reduce the risk posed by epidemics and allow as many processes as possible to be carried out remotely. We expect the company to be more environmentally friendly after the operation is completed.

Financial support

The investment is co-financed by the Republic of Slovenia and the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund.

Objectives and results

The objectives of the operation will be a unified analytical platform for decision-making based on machine data, better digitization competencies for almost all employees, improved cyber security, introduction of an electronic account management system, introduction of an electronic request for material in the warehouse.

Covid-19 Booster Call

Magneti Ljubljana d.d had received funding from the EIT RawMaterials under the Covid-19 Booster call to accelerate the industrial production of two newly developed Sm2Co17 grades, previously validated in Laboratory. The grades offer improved magnetic properties of higher straightness of demagnetization curves, and/or remanence and maximum energy product in comparison to the existing serial production SmCo magnets. The new grades are closing the gap in the magnetic properties with the dominant REE-permanent magnets; NdFeB. The project started on 6th of July 2020 and it aims to validate the grades in pilot production by December 2020.
